WE GOT SOOO CLOSE!
The Leelanau School received lots of love and positive attention as recent applicants for a transformational IMPACT100-TC grant to support our Auditorium Restoration. Unfortunately, the competition was fierce in the final stages of the review, and we narrowly missed out to three other worthy projects.
On the upside, the list of organizations interested in our vision of ashared community venue on The Leelanau School campus continues to grow. Expanding relationships with The Glen Arbor Players, the Glen Arbor Arts Center, Interlochen Center for the Arts, and other area schools, arts organizations, and businesses are central to Leelanau's new strategic plan and key to our future. Building community with our neighbors is a win-win!
We continue to seek grant, community, and individual support for our Auditorium revitalization project. We've done the leg work, hired superb consultants, and need $158,000 for Phase I of the project—the audio, visual, lighting, and electrical updates to the Auditorium.
Another $160,000 is required for our "beautification" Phase II—to update the worn seating, flooring, paint, and curtains and to provide improved accessibility to the Auditorium.
If you have fond memories of the Auditorium and want to help, please let us know! Special or additional gifts, large and small, will help us refurbish this historic gathering space. And with a leadership gift to the project, we would proudly add your name in lights!
